His first assignment was to Charleston, South Carolina, where he worked Foreign Counterintelligence (FCI) investigations and operations.
In 1991, Jon transferred to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. There he continued to run and support proactive counterintelligence operations throughout the Pacific Rim. In 1996, Jon received his appointment to the FBI and was assigned to the Atlanta Field Office. His first assignment was to support the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Following the bombing of Centennial Olympic Park, he worked the Eric Rudolph investigation for the following two years. In 2000, he was tasked with overseeing the office’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Program.
For over twenty-one years, Jon served as Atlanta’s Crisis Management Coordinator. As such, he responded to three bombings in the Atlanta area, hundreds of anthrax hoaxes, kidnappings, mass shootings such as the Pulse Nightclub attack in Orlando, and disaster sites such as New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. He was the FBI representative to over 400 unified commands.
In 2018, after thirty-one years of federal service, Jon retired from the FBI and joined Odin Enterprises. He currently serves our clients by working with the Odin team to deliver a focused curriculum of experienced-based critical incident response training.
